Juvenile polyposis syndrome. This is important for a small proportion of people with hht who have SMAD4 mutations. The term 'Juvenile' in the title refers to the histological type of the polyps rather than age of onset. Affected individuals may present with rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, diarrhea or anemia.
Pulmonary Hypertension is important for only a small proportion of people with hht. It means raised blood pressure within the pulmonary arteries. Symptoms include, shortness of breath, fatigue (tiredness), feeling faint or dizzy, chest pain (angina), a racing heartbeat (palpitations), leg and ankle swelling.
